PRESS RELEASE
Representatives from various European countries had the opportunity to experience a creative two-day exchange of views and good practices during their participation in the annual EPALE Ambassadors Event, which was organised for the first time in Athens by the Central Support Service of the EPALE electronic platform (EPALE CSS), on 26 and 27 November 2025, at the Athens Impact Hub.
The central theme of the event was titled “Co-creating the Future of Adult Education”, while the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY), as the National Support Service of the EPALE Electronic Platform in Greece (NSS Greece), was represented by four EPALE Ambassadors: Mr. Georgios Koulaouzidis, Mr. Nikolaos Mallios, Ms. Viktoria Apostolou, and Ms. Areti Vouraki, as well as members of the EPALE project team.
The programme included contributions from the European Commission and NSS Greece, while special emphasis was placed on the keynote speech delivered by HOU professor, Vice President of the European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA), and EPALE Ambassador, Mr. Georgios Koulaouzidis, who analysed the characteristics that define the effectiveness of adult educators.
Particularly interesting were the thematic workshops, which focused on key issues in the field: the ethical use of artificial intelligence, the design of local actions for the EPALE platform, and strategies for promoting the platform to wider audiences. In the final part of the event, titled “Backcasting EPALE 2035”, the Ambassadors were invited to envision the evolution of the platform over the next decade and to identify the necessary steps for making this vision a reality.
