Short-Term Mobility Scholarships in the United Kingdom
Official Launch Event of the 4th Cycle of the Bilateral Scholarship Programme
An event was hosted at the British Ambassador’s Residence on Tuesday, April 8, to officially launch the fourth cycle of the Hellenic–British short-term scholarship programme for postgraduate studies and doctoral research in the United Kingdom. The scholarships are awarded to postgraduate and doctoral students from Greek universities.
At the event, the Chargé d’Affaires of the British Embassy, Ms. Susan Geary, welcomed the President of the State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y.), Emerita Professor Vasso Kindi; the Head of the Scholarships Directorate at I.K.Y., Ms. Eirini Droutsa; the Director of the British Council in Greece, Ms. Anastasia Andritsou; as well as scholarship recipients of the programme.
The Hellenic–British short-term scholarship programme is jointly implemented by the State Scholarships Foundation (I.K.Y.) and the British Council, in collaboration with the British Embassy in Athens.
The scholarship recipients will travel to the United Kingdom between April and June 2025 for a four-week academic visit. During their stay, they will have the opportunity to build a valuable network of academic contacts, familiarize themselves with new ideas and innovative scientific methods and practices, and take advantage of the unique resources offered by world-renowned British universities.
During the current academic year, 24 scholarship recipients were accepted to British universities in mobility programmes covering more than 15 scientific fields (e.g. medicine, archaeology, literature, engineering, economics, music, psychology, molecular biology) and specializations (e.g. energy and environment, climatology, theoretical/applied physics, ecological economics).
