The State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) established the innovative “2+2” Scholarships Programme which rewards excellence in the most meaningful way. Post-graduate studies are directly linked to the labour market and excellent specialised young scientists are employed in the field of their studies by top enterprises and organisations in Greece. The National Bank of Greece participates in the pilot “2+2” Programme implemented by IKY, offering one hundred (100) jobs to IKY scholars, scientists attending post-graduate studies’ programmes in Greece, practically contributing to linking education to the labour market. In particular, it provides scholars, in parallel to their post-graduate studies, with in-service traineeship for two years maximum and, subsequently, full-time employment jobs for two more years.
One hundred (100) scholarships are offered by IKY, for completing post-graduate studies in Greece, in the fields of Banking, Accounting, Financing, Audit, Risk Management, Business Administration, Marketing and Communication, Human Resources Management, Shipping, Economy, Applied Economics, International Economics, Economic Analysis, Rural Economy, IT, Mathematics, Statistics, Energy, Communication Systems and Networks, together with in-service traineeship, for acquiring professional experience in NBG and, then, full-time employment for two years under a contract of dependent work. The total duration of the operational plan is four (4) years maximum and starts at the beginning of the 2014-2015 academic period.
