The State Scholarships Foundation (IKY), in implementation of Joint Ministerial Decision No. 69893/Z1/21-6-2024 (Government Gazette 3661/B/26-6-2024), and specifically Article 1 thereof, announces the implementation of a program aimed at funding the participation of student teams in international competitions held abroad during the academic year 2025–2026. The objective is to showcase the best team or individual participant in the respective scientific field of the competition.
Applications will be submitted by the Secretariats of Greek Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) during the period from September 1, 2025, to October 15, 2025. The aim is to fund student teams intending to participate in international competitions during the academic year 2025–2026, with the respective Secretariats certifying that the teams will represent their department in the specified competition. Universities must provide, within their applications, information regarding the teams, their academic supervisors, and the competitions in which they intend to participate. The evaluation and selection criteria used by IKY’s Administrative Board are described in detail in Article 1, paragraph 4 of the Joint Ministerial Decision.
As part of the program, each selected team member participating in an international competition abroad will receive a lump-sum grant of €500. The maximum total amount per participating team is €5,000 (for teams with more than ten members).
