Erasmus+ 2021-2027 Project Communication and Visibility Guide
In view of attaining the objectives and priorities of the European Commission, it is necessary that all the beneficiaries of Erasmus+ funding follow the communication guidelines of the Programme.
To this end, the European Commission has published the Communication Guide that will help beneficiaries communicate and raise the visibility of their project but also make the most of their project results.
The Communication Guide consists of five (5) sections organised in chronological steps.
Each step is explained based on the “what, why, how” methodology, which aims at highlighting all the details of the actions which must be performed for a most effective communication of the Erasmus+ projects.
The communication strategy of the Programme is focused around the key message “It all starts here”, since the participation in the Programme can signal the start of new opportunities, of any type, as well as around the motto “Changing lives, opening lives”. Using plain, intelligible language in your communication with the stakeholders is encouraged.
Applying the principle of diversity in the stories communicated is strongly recommended, in order to promote the participation of people with a different profile, including people with fewer opportunities, as a positive example that will foster the participation of such groups in the Programme. Please note that the written consent of the parents is a prerequisite for the participation of minors.
For more information, please read here the promotional material of the Erasmus+ campaign. The guide on how to communicate your Erasmus+ project can be read here.
Use of logos for project beneficiaries
Erasmus+ funding beneficiaries must use the emblem of the European Union in the projects they implement and state the support received.
Depending on the communication and visibility needs of the project, the logos of the Erasmus+ Programme can be:
• against a white or a transparent background
Download the logos for projects co-funded by the European Union in EPS, JPEG and PNG formats, suitable for all uses.
To ensure the correct use of the EU emblem, the European Commission has developed the corporate guidelines for EU funding recipients as well as Communication and visibility rules for EU funding programmes 2021-2027– Guidance for Member States.
1. Press Releases & Media Promotion
- a simple press release template (title, short introduction, project code, description of the activity, contact details, photos in png format)
- basic tips for communicating with the media (see section 9)
Indicative examples of topics that can be developed into press releases include: event announcements, completion of a job shadowing activity, completion of mobility activities, event results.
A press release should:
- focus on what is interesting for the reader
- explain in a simple way the benefits of the project for students, teachers, or the local community
- be sent to the Communication and Results Exploitation Team of IKY (e-mail: social@iky.gr), which may publish selected press releases on IKY’s Social Media channels
2. Communication Channels & Social Media
Website
It is recommended to create a dedicated project page on your organization’s website, which includes:
- title, brief description, objectives, and partners (if applicable)
- duration and main activities
- results / deliverables (with download option)
- EU, Erasmus+, and organization logos
- disclaimer text
The page should be regularly updated with news, photos, and relevant links.
Social Media
Social media are a key, direct, and highly effective communication tool. You can publish:
- short texts, photos, videos, participant quotes
- travel “diaries” (blog/vlog)
- snapshots from project activities (behind-the-scenes)
Always use:
- #iky #ErasmusPlus #ErasmusPlusIKY
- thematic hashtags such as:#VET, #adulteducation, #schooleducation, #vocationeducation, #vocationaltraining, #highereducation
Before publishing any photos or videos, make sure you have obtained consent from the individuals appearing in them.
Regularly tag the official profiles of the National Agency (IKY):
- Facebook: https://bit.ly/IKYFacebook
- Instagram: https://bit.ly/IKYInstagram
- LinkedIn: https://bit.ly/IKYLinkedin
In view of ensuring greater visibility and dissemination of the Erasmus+ Programme and the projects implemented by beneficiaries, you are encouraged to make reference to the Erasmus+ National Agency/ IKY.
In this way, the Erasmus+ National Agency/IKY can easily trace all the projects and actions implemented by all bodies and disseminate them through its social media.
Any type of material created by the beneficiaries can include strictly for the communication needs of their project (e.g. websites, pages in social media and promotional material) the following items, namely:
• a link to the website of Erasmus+ National Agency/IKY
• a tag referring to the webpages of the Erasmus+ National Agency/IKY (@name of organisation)
