
European Universities are transnational alliances which pave the way towards the universities of the future, promoting European values and identity and revolutionising the quality and competitiveness of European higher education. To achieve this major step forward, the European Commission is examining various cooperation models for the European Universities by launching the relevant Calls for proposals under Erasmus+.
These alliances will:
- include partners from HEIs of all types and will cover a broad geographical field in Europe;
- be based on a long-term, jointly planned strategy, focusing on sustainability, excellence and European values;
- offer student-centered curricula jointly delivered across inter-university campuses, where students originating from different countries will be able to attend personalized curricula and carry out mobility in all study cycles;
- adopt an approach according to which students, academics, and external partners can cooperate in interdisciplinary teams to tackle the most significant challenges Europe is faced with today.
